If the light has no output,
(new lamp only)
1. The insulating disc is not removed from the light.
2. The buyer taps the switch rather than pressing and holding it down for 0.5-1 second
(old lamps)
3. The battery cap is not fully tightened
4. The battery becomes defective
If the light blinks but not stays on
The light is in LOCKOUT mode. The small light will blink 4 times whenever the button is pressed. To UNLOCK the light, press and hold down BOTH buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The lamp will blink 4 times again and unlock.
Troubleshooting Steps.
Fenix rarely has a DOA unit. Could you test the headlamp using the steps below? They might get it working right away.
1. If this is your first time using the headlamp, remove the battery cap and remove the white insulating disc between the battery and the battery cap. The light will not function if the disc remains.
2. Insert the battery with its button top facing the headlamp. Please make sure the battery cap is fully tightened. The threads on a new light can be stiff, so you may want to rotate it back and forth a few times to ensure it screws in completely.
3. Press and hold the power switch for 0.5 to 1 second or until the headlamp turns on.
Does the light turn on now? If the light blinks 3-4 times whenever the button is pressed, it is in the LOCKOUT mode. Check the manual for details. It can be unlocked easily by pressing and holding both buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The lamp will blink 4 times and unlock.
We look forward to your updates. Thank you,
