Troubleshooting
The wireless tail cap, once installed, can operate the flashlight. However, the remote switch does not work. Tapping the tail cap three or five times does not link or re-pair the remote switch.
Follow the steps below to test the remote switch.
1. Remove and reinstall the wireless tail cap.
2. Turn on then turn off the light with the wireless tail cap to ensure the light works properly
3. "Quickly" tap the wireless tap cap button three times. The tap is a half-press and won't turn on the light. However, the three taps must be in very quick succession. The remote function won't be activated if you wait too long between the taps. A blue indicator at the back of the wireless cap (underneath the switch) will light up once the remote function is ready.
4. Test the light with the remote switch
The remote switch does not always operate the light. The click is inconsistent.
Make sure there is no obstacle between the remote switch and the flashlight.
Press perpendicularly to the switch.
The pairing does not work even though the blue indicator flashes
Can you follow the steps below to test the paring?
1. Replace the standard tail cap with the remote switch tail cap (A).
2. Click on/off the back switch on the tail cap A to ensure the light works properly.
3. Turn off the flashlight.
4. Half-tap the remote tail cap switch A three times quickly. The blue indicator underneath the rubber switch should blink on and off.
5. If step 3 is successful, quickly half-tap the remote tail cap A switch three times. This should turn off the blue indicator.
6. Now. Quickly half-tap the rubber switch five times.
Here is the catch. If you tap too slowly, the blue indicator will either not light up or blink slowly since it only registers the first three taps. You have to go back to Step 5 if that happens. If you do it successfully, the blue indicator should blink rapidly. You can repeat Step 4-5 multiple times until you can tell the difference between the two types of blinking.
7. When the blue indicator blinks rapidly, press and hold down both buttons on the pressure pad (check the manual for an illustration) until the flashlight turns on steadily. It should take around 5 to 10 seconds. The pairing is now complete.
It took me a few tries to get the rapid blinking working. Once you see it, you will be able to tell the difference.
