There are two ways to prevent the light from turning on when it is not in use.

1) Press both buttons simultaneously when the light is off until the light blinks three times. All functions will be locked until you unlock the light with the same steps.

2) Tilt the light until it clicks to the most upward position. The bracket will shield the buttons from accidental pressing.
