Issue: The flashlight's hotspot has a dark center.

As far as I know, what you observed is intrinsic to the Luminus SFT70 LED in this light. Its die size is slightly larger than a normal LED like XP-L Hi. The light also uses a relatively shallow reflector to keep its compact size. (Most other lights with similar throw distances usually have much deeper and larger reflectors.) Coupling these two factors, one might notice a dark center at a certain distance if the light is shined on a white wall. However, one will hardly notice it at closer or further distances or during normal use. This is what I understand from the look of this model. The factory engineers might have a better explanation.
