EMR10 does not repel mosquitos. How do I know that it is working?

By design, the EMR10 does not emit odor or visible mist/vapor.

To verify that the unit is working properly, follow the steps below.

1. Install a new Nitecore Mat

2. Press the power button until the OLED display turns on.

3. Tap the power button to alternate between Indoor and Outdoor modes. The unit is on if the OLED screen displays the mode accordingly.

4. Set it to Outdoor mode and wait for 15 minutes.

EMR10 does not repel mosquitos because its temperature is too low (fixed in batches after 06/28/23)

If a customer complains that the EMR10 does not repel mosquitoes and the unit was manufactured before March 2023, we can consider it a defective unit and provide a replacement with s/n 2304xx or later. This issue may occur in some early batches where the heating temperature was set at a lower level, which could be insufficient to release the repellents effectively in suboptimal environments. However, the factory has improved the design and raised the heating temperature to address this problem.

EMR10 does not display the runtime accurately (fixed in batches after 06/28/23)

Customers may observe a sudden drop in the displayed runtime or battery level of the fully charged EMR10 unit, going from 12 hours to 11 or 10 hours or from 100% to 90% within a few seconds of turning on the unit. They might complain about rapid battery drainage, the inability to hold charges, or inaccurate runtime information.

This issue is attributed to a display error. The EMR10 chip fails to accurately calculate the runtime or battery level when the circuit transitions from open to load. However, per the product specifications, the EMR10 still operates for the specified 12-hour duration. The inaccurate display occurs specifically when the battery level is near full.

It is important to note that this is a known issue, and the factory is expected to address and improve it in future batches. It is not considered a defect that can be rectified by replacing the unit at this stage.

 [Update 08.18.2023]

Batches after 230628 have the display accuracy issue resolved and the heating temperature raised to 165°C / 329°F MAX.
